Sevrin Baker is a Corrective High-Performance Exercise Kinesiology (C.H.E.K.) Practitioner who has been practicing in Nelson since 2003.

He was first introduced to the field while attending class at his soon to be mentor’s gym. Through this exercise class new and exciting ways to rehabilitate his own injuries and physical problems were learned. He became aware of how many common conceptions of body mechanics and exercise were incorrect, unfounded even. The straight forward explanations made how the human body worked easy to understand. When this understanding was combined with an impressive increase in his balance, coordination, and strength he was determined to learn more.

He has spent the last 16 years improving the process by learning from and incorporating various modalities into his practice.

Allie has always been fascinated by the human body and the way its interconnected systems function as a whole. This curiosity guides her work as a Massage Therapist and shapes the way she shows up for each person she works with. She believes that you know your body best and sees massage as a collaborative process. Allie loves the one-on-one nature of her work and the depth of connection that comes from listening, exploring and figuring things out together.

Her treatment style is a mix of therapeutic and relaxation massage. She moves slowly and intentionally, using both deep and light pressure depending on what your body needs. Allie often uses techniques like slow, deep stripping and holding, allowing the tissues the time they need to soften and unwind. She enjoys treating the body like a puzzle, gently troubleshooting areas of pain or tension and noticing how different parts influence one another.

Allie brings a calm, empathetic presence into the treatment room, helping clients feel cared for, heard, and at ease. She’s a lifelong learner and is excited to continue growing her practice with future interests including reflexology and intra-oral work.

Allie graduated from the Kootenay Columbia College Registered Massage Therapy program in Nelson. She spends her summers offering massage at Mountain Trek Health Retreat in Ainsworth, and in the winter she works part-time at Selkirk Wilderness Cat Skiing in Meadow Creek.

She deeply values her work and the authentic human connections she gets to make each day. She feels blessed to be in service as I walk alongside individuals during times of challenge, vulnerability, and growth.

Specializations

Ayurveda is a holistic science that looks at the root of illness and disease. Because of this unique approach, she can address a wide range of issues in the body and mind.

Here are a few of the common areas she can be of service:

  • Digestive issues
  • Hormone imbalance
  • Weight loss
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Addiction recovery
  • Eating disorders
  • Stress reduction
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Skin Issues
  • Allergies

Through the art and science of living that is Ayurveda she supports all walks of life (individuals, couples, and families). She can assist you in transforming your relationship with food, developing a sustainable self-care routine, and adopting a personal yoga practice that will strengthen your capacity to digest all things life.

Whether it’s trauma, addiction, grief and loss, loneliness, life transitions, and relationship difficulties, or anxiety, depression, communication, self-esteem, and disordered eating patterns Ayurveda and yoga were designed to restore balance and bring calmness to ALL parts of your being. The results are proper nourishment of every cell, meaning optimal health is achieved and your connection to self becomes much deeper as well as with your loved ones and other creatures!

Background & Experience

As a social worker, Jordan has worked in poverty reduction and homelessness prevention, and developed and ran an at-risk Indigenous youth program. In recent years, she’s worked for the health authority as an acute medical and oncology social worker. She also served as a clinician in a medical doctors office, and worked extensively in the mental health sector as a youth crisis response clinician.

Educationally, she holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and continue’s to receive formal training and mentorship in body-focused psychotherapy with Somatic Experiencing International. During her Masters she did an apprenticeship in family therapy while exploring the use of yoga-based interventions in clinical social work practice. She also teaches trauma-informed yoga for clients and my community at Nelson School of Yoga, and provide educational workshops to the public as an Ayurvedic Health Counsellor. With these experiences, she’s created a unique service that is holistic in nature. Although she certainly draw on the knowledge from the mainstream disciplines of social work and Western therapy, she has found that Ayurveda and Yoga serve as practical tools that cut to the chase and allow change and healing to happen much more quickly and effectively, especially when combined with energetic, somatic, and trauma-informed therapies.

Noémi offers Biofield Tuning, a therapeutic sound balancing modality that works with the body’s electrical system, that is connected to our conscious and subconscious mind, including our memories. We use tuning forks on and around the body to locate and shift stuck energy, helping your body to restore balance and harmony and change the way you respond to stress. When coherent sound is reflected to your body’s electromagnetic field, your body’s organizing intelligence directs sound exactly where it’s needed, dissonance resolves, resistance gives way, and your body knows how to come back to vitality and wholeness.

Born and raised in Hungary, Noémi is a professional singer, voice teacher and choir conductor. After more than 20 years of working with students through music and sound she turned her focus towards sound healing. She offers sound baths with Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls, supports people in palliative and end of life care, and those who’re going through grief and loss. Attunement Therapeutics

(Jade has found a business name… find her under this name in the near future)

Practice update:

Jade is moving away from offering traditional swedish oil massage to offer two different session types:

  • Nervous system focused Craniosacral and Somatics (for nervous system health, stress support) *deep listening, tuning in together.

  • Craniosacral, Myofascial Release & Massage (for injuries and pain) *specific, methodical, intentional, unwinding tension and torsional patterns in the body.

Nervous system focused Craniosacral sessions are best if you book a few consecutive sessions at a time – book 4 sessions and receive your last session free! Reach out to Jade to inquire :)

Both sessions are billable to RMT benefits.

If you are a client of Jade’s who would still like to receive Swedish Massage, please book in with one of our other lovely RMT’s at the clinic! Allie and Mackenna both have lots of availability; and are AMAZING at what they do :)

(And if you are comfortable with it, they can speak with Jade about your treatments and how to best work with you)

What is Craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on, non-invasive approach to bodywork developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John Upledger. It focuses on releasing deep-seated patterns of tension in the body to support the function of the central nervous system and encourage overall balance.

Using a light touch, practitioners assess and work with the craniosacral system – the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. By listening to the body’s subtle rhythms and areas of restriction, craniosacral therapy supports the body’s natural ability to regulate, restore, and heal.

Jade’s approach:

As a deeply feeling and highly sensitive person, Jade’s work is rooted in her own ongoing journey of healing and becoming more embodied. Through her personal experiences of reconnecting with her body and nervous system, she has developed a gentle, intuitive approach that honours the body’s natural capacity to heal and reorganize when given the right support.

Her practice is informed by four years as an RMT, multiple craniosacral and somatic trainings, as well as mentorship with Cheyne Cameron, RMT, in craniosacral, myofascial, and visceral techniques. These influences, combined with her own intuitive awareness, shape a style of treatment that is both attentive and responsive to the body’s subtle cues.

Working through a craniosacral lens, Jade listens closely to the nervous system and the body’s tissues, allowing sessions to unfold in a way that supports regulation, release, and flow within the body. Her work involves gentle craniosacral techniques alongside deeper myofascial methods that follow the body’s natural patterns of unwinding and release. She occasionally incorporates deeper pressure swedish techniques as needed.

Jade’s ideal client is someone who values deep presence and somatic awareness; someone who enjoys or desires having support to be present in their body. Her sessions are not an opportunity to check out but to check in :)

Please reach out to Jade with any questions you might have.

Contact Jade at: jadesb.rmt@gmail.com OR (250)505-6351.

– Jade only accepts cash or e-transfer, however, she offers direct billing for most benefit companies! –

If you are struggling financially but still in need of care, Jade has a sliding scale option. Please contact her directly to inquire.

MacKenna is a feral farm kid, turned horse back wrangler, turned Registered Massage Therapist and Womb Continuum Practitioner.

MacKenna grew up in a small town in Southern Ontario, where working with animals and the people taught her the value of becoming an integrated member of the community of which you live in. When MacKenna moved to Nelson 4 years ago, she brought some of her life passions with her to be of service to her new home and community through starting up a Women’s Kickboxing Program, 1:1 self defence sessions, and becoming an avid dog sitter while training to become a Registered Massage Therapist.

MacKenna has always been uniquely drawn to working with women, amplified by her martial arts history and her love for empowering women to uncover their hidden strengths and talents in Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and Kick-boxing. Through the journey of healing her own menstrual dysfunctions, MacKenna realized she wanted to pivot her bodywork focus to help women at every phase of their lives, whether pre or postpartum, pregnant, on a conception journey, peri or post menopause, menarche (first period), or beyond. There is a dire need for women to learn deeper about their bodies, come into a deeper relationship with their cycles, heal their trauma, and uncover their strengths.

MacKenna is currently half-way through an 18-month intensive training called Womb Continuum Practitioner, a training made by women, for women. To be of service and support to women through each unique phase of their life. Each unique phase of their cycle. This type of bodywork heavily focuses on fascial belly work, scar tissue work, external pelvic alignment, organ massage, and being a humble educator to teaching women how tend to a deeper relationship with their pelvises.

She is absolutely honoured to weave in her passion for working with women into an avenue that is desperately needed in women’s health.
